The only logical reasons that I can justify in my mind as to why parents send their child to a private school are religion, or the parents are wealthy and money for college is not a concern or to get the child out of a crime ridden school or neighborhood. \r\n\r\nHaving  been the parent of two children that have come through private schools, what I have found is:\r\n\r\n1.)  Typically private schools are not allowed into the suburban school systems sports leagues and typically the private schools are forced to either drive to a another city where the suburban schools are in different leagues or drive to the urban leagues where crime and violence are prevalent. \r\n\r\n2.)  The private schools I have sent my children to end up using text books that are hand me downs from either the urban schools or the suburbon schools and many times are a decade or more old. \r\n\r\n3.)  The private schools religious affiliation typically requires the student to complete course work on the schools religion.  \r\n\r\n4.)  The parents of the children in the private schools typically are quite pompous or arrogant. \r\n\r\n5.)  The private schools tend to lag behind in technology classes for the students (typically due to cost.) \r\n\r\n6.)  The private schools also tend not to offer any real life skill classes such as vocational programs. \r\n\r\n7.)  The private schools tend to lag behind in their athletic facilities again due to cost. \r\n\r\nFinally,\r\n\r\nThe private schools my children attend cost about $8,500 dollars per year and are contiually running fund raising events placing more pressure on the parents to give them even more money.","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"Randall Thorne","url":"http:\/\/www.randallthorne.com"}}],"about":["Homeschooling"],"wordCount":604,"keywords":["butterfly on a wheel","example statistics","film 127","income opportunities","ong bak 3","scholastic achievement","scholastic skills","scholastic style","standardized tests","starting salaries","time investment"]}
